Our goal is to reduce our client's power bills to zero while flooding the grid with green power all from recycled EV batteries.
A NEW DAWN FOR HOME BATTERIES
Most of the batteries on the market in South Australia right now are between 10 and 15 kWh.
The average home in S.A. uses between 13 and 19kWh daily.
Here's when things get interesting. The power price in SA fluctuates daily in a highly predictable pattern. When the sun is up all the solar panels out there make cheap green power so the price for electricity is low. When the sun goes down however our power is generated by gas. and coal and that makes it expensive.
If however you had a 75kWh battery and used 19kWh a day by filling the battery during the day and selling the excess back to the grid at night you would cover all your power costs. You would actually be in credit to the tune of something around $20 a day, and that's assuming you don't have solar pannels.
$20 a day will, in most cases cover 100% finance on our batteries.
Recycled EV batteries are perfect for home use - and they're cheap!
EV's require a lot from their batteries. They need to push a 2 tonne car from zero to 100kmh in timeframes that were unthinkable just a decade ago. House batteries however move at a much slower pace. Power trickles in during the day when electricity is cheap and green, and then it trickles out at night time when electricity is expensive and dirty. This means that even batteries that have reached 'end of life' in an EV can serve as house batteries for many more years. Batteries that come from EV's that have been written off with no damage to the battery are what we use and will last as long if not longer than any purpose built home battery. Our batteries come mounted in trailers that plug into your home, in casings that are designed to be moved (with specialist equipment) or fixed to your home.
So if you are moving soon or renting you can take your battery with you. Our trailer mounted batteries can charge your EV and be charged at EV charge stations.
benefit from all your neighbours solar panels
When the sun is shining in South Australia most solar panel arrays export cheap green energy to the grid. With a large battery you can import that cheap green energy for your own use as well as exporting it back to the grid at night when energy is dirty & expensive.
Passive income from the energy market
With Amber Electric you get wholesale rates for the electricity that you export back to the grid. Three times in February 2025 the wholesale rate reached the capped rate of $17.50 per kWh. Most providers only pay $0.04 to $0.10 per kWh feed in tariff. Charge your battery when the grid is green and cheap, then sell it back when power is expensive and dirty.

Approved applicants can have their battery fully financed and paid for by the money it generates as outlined above. This means that under some circumstances (depending primarily on your battery size and energy usage) Your battery could zero your energy bill AND pay for itself.
